The bodyshell uses both high-strength, dual-phase steels and multi-thickness metals welded partly using laser technology.  The high level chasis stiffness means that the steering and suspension always work in the best possible conditions.

The "premium" floorpan combines with the bodyshell to form a high-strength, compact structure with guaranteed performance over time.  Chasis stiffness is also synonymous with safety and strength, certified by stringent EuroNCAP tests.

Safety

Alfa 159 is at the very top of the category when it comes to active and passive safety.  All the main elements of the body are firmly inter-connected, with three load lines at the front and long members that run the entire length of the car, providing excellent safety and driving comfort.

The use of new high-strength dual-phase steels for the body, undeformable floor pan and solid engine support structure, ensures the maximum protection for passengers even in the event of high-speed collisions.

The car's passive safety systems are designed to get the best possible results.  As well as the front, side and window airbags, the car is also fitted with innovative airbags for the driver's knees, which are also available on request for the passenger.  For children, there are also Isofix triple rear fittings for child seats.
