Control & Safety

Alfa-156-Control.jpgThe Alfa 156 is fitted with double wishbone suspension at the front. This system works to keep the wheel exactly at right angles to the road and thus exploit the tyre surface to the full on bends.

The advanced MacPherson system fitted at the rear features modified structure, materials and body connection points to bring rear axle ride and grip into line with the quality and performance of the double wishbone front suspension.

Alfa Romeo protects you every time you get behind the wheel, with an efficient system of active and passive safety equipment. The use of light materials achieves the best weight/power ratio for the car while improving its stability.

There is the reliability of the latest generation Bosch ABS system with integrated brake force distributor between the driving and rear wheels (EBD). There are six airbags as standard: driver and passenger bags, two side bags and two window bags.

The passenger cabin of the Alfa 156 has been designed as a survival cell, and is protected by side anti-penetration bars and controlled deformation zones to absorb impacts. The range of active safety features is completed with devices such as ASR, VDC and MSR/Brake Assist.
